The Foundation was established in Michelle Combs' memory by her business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, and her friends and family. Michelle was an extraordinary young woman who lived her life with unbridled enthusiasm. She yearned to attend a university and continue her studies, and yet her learning disabilities would have derailed that at most schools. When she found the SALT (Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques) Program at the University of Arizona, she was thrilled to find the learning strategies to become the student that she dreamed of being. Through SALT, she knew she could graduate with a degree that would enable her to pursue the career she imagined for herself. The Foundation awards scholarships to students at the SALT Center at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, who are pursuing an undergraduate major or minor in business, communication, or retail and consumer science. For the 2006-2007 school year the SALT Center fees are $2,200 per semester. The Foundation's goal is to award one scholarships for $2,200 in the fall of 2007. After the University of Arizona scholarships are endowed (funded in perpetuity), the foundation will endow scholarships at other universities that have programs similar to the SALT Center. The Foundation's scholarships are Michelle's legacy. Please browse this website and learn about Michelle and the Foundation.
